You can’t do more than Empoli: AC Milan manager digs at Graham Potter as Chelsea gets ready for back to back Champions League tie.

Stefano Pioli, the manager of AC Milan, reportedly said that the encounter against Chelsea won’t be the hardest, comparing it to a game versus Empoli.

Chelsea has yet to play AC Milan despite being paired with the Italian team in Group E of the UEFA Champions League along with Dinamo Zagreb and FC Salzburg.

Chelsea opted to cut ways with head coach Thomas Tuchel after their opening European encounter, a 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb.

In his first game in command, Graham Potter quickly took the place of the German and managed a 1-1 draw against FC Salzburg.

With AC Milan leading the group with four points after these results, the Blues now occupy the lowest spot.

Before the second encounter at the San Siro, Chelsea will play host to the Serie A team in their upcoming group match at Stamford Bridge.

Before the game against Chelsea, Pioli, the head coach of AC Milan, has suddenly come clean about something, making fun of the Blues.

He reportedly stated, as reported by Football Italia: “I don’t think there’s too much difference between performing well in Italy and in Europe.

“A faster tempo is necessary for the Champions League, but it’s not impossible.

“I realize there are expectations surrounding the Chelsea games, but I still believe Empoli will pose the biggest challenge for us.

“Only two days prior to that match, I will have welcomed the players back from international service.

“I have faith that we can defeat Chelsea if we play at our typical caliber.”
