Todd Boehly expresses anger with Marina Granovskaia for failing to bring in a €80 million player for Chelsea in 2021. 

According to the Spanish website Diario Sport, Todd Boehly found it difficult to understand why Chelsea passed up the opportunity to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni back in 2021. (via Football Espana).

The Frenchman was available for purchase by the Blues for €35 million, but they decided against it because they didn’t believe he would be competitive enough in the Premier League.

However, the transfer coordinator at the time, Marina Granovskaia, preferred to sign Saul to a loan agreement. As is well known, the Spaniard returned to Atletico after a disappointing previous campaign.

Tchouameni would sign with Real Madrid for €80 million a year later. With two assists in nine games, he swiftly earned a spot in the Whites’ starting lineup and is currently one of their finest players.
