The most recent information regarding Chelsea’s pursuit of Josko Gvardiol is provided by Fabrizio Romano.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has been interested in signing Josko Gvardiol since last summer. Fabrizio revealed to CaughtOffside
“They requested him in a €80 million plus add-ons agreement for 2023, but Leipzig refused.
“At the moment, I’m told that Chelsea are still interested, but nothing has been decided; the race is still open, and nothing will happen at this time because he is entirely focused on the World Cup.”
The 23-year-old joined Leipzig in 2021 and has played in 66 Bundesliga games since then. With the Croatian national team, he is now in Qatar.
Leipzig reportedly turned down Chelsea’s €90 million offer for the center-back in August of this year because there was not enough time for the clubs to finalize the trade before the deadline.
