Reece James' highlights for Chelsea vs AC Milan are sensational, he's the best right-back in the world

Reece James produced another immense showing for Chelsea as they ran out 2-0 winners over AC Milan at the San Siro.

Jorginho put the Blues ahead from the spot after the awarding of controversial penalty also saw a red card for former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the lead, notching his third goal for the club following a flowing team move.

But James was again a standout performer for Chelsea, completely running the show from the right-hand side.

He supplied the glorious pass in behind Tomori for Mason Mount to latch onto and win the penalty that would put Chelsea in the lead.

And that was many instances of James’ incredible passing range being on display. His ability to switch the play so effortlessly is so impressive, with the weight of pass always bang on the money.

His energy levels to get up and down make him the perfect wing-back. One of the bursts he produced in transition was electric, James’ power and explosiveness making him look like an Olympic sprinter.

Defensively, he was absolutely solid again and did not give Rafael Leao, one of Milan’s chief outlets, a sniff.

The Portugal international hailed James as his “toughest opponent” after the 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, where James scored and shone.

Unfortunately for Leao the trend continued as the 22-year-old dropped a masterclass.

There was huge concern in the second half when James suffered a nasty jolt of the knee and went down. The England international did try and play on but had to be substituted.

Potter is hopeful the injury is not too severe, which will come as good news to Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.

After his fine run of form, James is quite possibly a starter going into the World Cup next month.

His Chelsea colleague Thiago Silva has tipped him to become “one of the best players in history” if he continues to show a “winning mentality” for years to come.

Meanwhile Rio Ferdinand believes James has the edge of Trent Alexander-Arnold at the moment.
