Right-back for Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold was left out of England’s squad for last night’s game against Germany.

Reds fans on Twitter have been asking why manager Gareth Southgate continues to prefer Chelsea’s Reece James over him, and they have come up with a variety of explanations:

Some managers simply do not like certain players, and sadly for Alexander-Arnold, it appears that Southgate is not one of them.

He may have to wait for a manager change before getting a chance in the side, and given England’s performances, a new head coach is likely to be in place after the World Cup.

Most fans will be relieved if Alexander-Arnold is not included in the squad for the trip to Qatar.
