Jordan Pickford has been chosen by Chelsea as an option to Edouard Mendy.

In 2020, the Blues acquired Mendy. Additionally, the Senegalese replaced Kepa Arrizabalaga as the top player. The 30-year-old has been quite successful for Chelsea when he has been between the posts.

Mendy played a significant role for the Blues team that won the Champions League in the 2020–21 campaign. For the Stamford Bridge team, the Senegalese kept up their strong performance. However, he made a few mistakes toward the close of the prior campaign.

Over the years, Jordan Pickford has performed admirably for Everton and England.

Pickford is a well-known international athlete. The 28-year-old has competed for the three Lions in prior important competitions. Gareth Southgate preferred the shot-stopper for the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020.

Pickford has been crucial for Everton over the past two of seasons. The 23-year-old produced some incredible stops against Chelsea at Goodison Park last season to assist his team to a 1-0 victory.

Pickford also turned up a tough-turning effort in his final Premier League game against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby. It will be interesting to see if the Blues back the England international to succeed Mendy in the near future.
