N’Golo Kante of Chelsea will miss the 2022 World Cup because of a hamstring injury

N’Golo Kante of Chelsea will miss the 2022 World Cup because of a hamstring injury.

After the international break, N’Golo Kante is expected to return.

N’Golo Kante, a star for Chelsea, is reportedly going to miss the Qatar 2022 World Cup because of a hamstring injury.

Since suffering an injury in the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in August, the midfielder has been sidelined.

The 31-year-old recently returned to training, and it was anticipated that he would soon make a full recovery. However, last week he experienced an aggravation of the hamstring injury, which will now keep him out for about three months.

The Athletic claims that Kante has little chance of recovering in time for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

This is a significant issue.

This is a major setback for Chelsea as well as France. Didier Deschamps may be without two crucial midfielders in Qatar after Paul Pogba’s availability for the major event was already in doubt.

Kante started every group and round of 16 game, which was crucial to Les Blues’ World Cup triumph.

The 31-year-old, who joined Chelsea in 2016 from Leicester City, has also played a significant role there.

However, due to injury, he was only able to make two appearances in the English Premier League this year.

Reece James, who recently suffered an injury against AC Milan in the Champions League, will also be sidelined for a considerable amount of time by Blues manager Graham Potter. The 22-year-old might not play for England in the 2022 World Cup.

This is a huge blow for both Chelsea and France. With Paul Pogba’s availability for the mega event already doubtful, Didier Deschamps could now be without two key midfielders in Qatar.

Kante played a crucial role for Les Blues’ victory in the 2018 World Cup, starting all group and knockout matches.

The 31-year-old has also been an important figure at Chelsea since making the move from Leicester City in 2016.

However, injury limited his involvement to only two appearances in the English top-flight this season.

The Blues boss Graham Potter will also be without Reece James for an extended spell after he picked up a knock against AC Milan in the Champions League recently. The 22-year-old could also miss the 2022 World Cup for England.

Another important Chelsea player, Wesley Fofana, is already dealing with a knee problem and will likely be sidelined for a while.
