“My wing isn’t right back” – Raheem  Sterling reacts on getting used to wing-back role; names his best position

Raheem Sterling has this season been utilized as a left wing-back by Graham Potter. The Englishman has obviously battled under Potter, demonstrating how tough it is for him to adjust to playing in this position.

However, the 27-year-old is confident he will pick up how to play wing-back for Chelsea.

“When you join a new team, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, as Sterling explained on the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“The shape is entirely different. The manager has asked me to play in a back five again even though it has been a while since I did.

“I would be more than happy to do that. I am high and wide when we have the ball, but you must defend, of course. I’m more than willing to play this position as long as I have time to think it through.

“Without a doubt, I believe winger is my finest position. But the manager has his own style of play, and he didn’t spend the entire preseason with us; in fact, he was let go in the middle of a storm.

“The manager has it in his hands and is attempting to determine who the best candidates are for open positions. I keep saying everything will come together nicely with time.”
