According to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea have formally entered the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
According to the journalist, who is extremely reliable when it comes to the Blues, the London club is aware that Liverpool and Real Madrid are the frontrunners for the teenager, but co-owner Todd Boehly believes they can make up ground in negotiations:
Chelsea is attempting to move up the Bellingham queue, while Boehly is attempting to overtake Madrid and Liverpool. Rice remains popular as well.
Dortmund is reportedly willing to pay up to €150 million (£136 million) for Bellingham, but Chelsea is not interested.
Dortmund is reportedly willing to pay up to €150 million (£136 million) for Bellingham, but Chelsea is unlikely to be deterred by the reported asking price.
The Blues want to sign at least one new midfielder, and Law claims that West Ham’s Declan Rice is still on the club’s radar, despite the Hammers’ stated refusal to sell the 23-year-old for less than £150 million.
Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig is also a target, and the Frenchman is likely to be the easiest of the three to sign next summer given his €60 million (£54 million) release clause.
