The Seagulls are currently fourth in the Premier League after a strong start under Potter, but he has now left the club after three years to join Chelsea to succeed Thomas Tuchel.

Since then, Brighton have since hired Roberto De Zerbi, who previously coached at Sassuolo in Italy and Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine.

Brighton manager Graham Potter’s departure, according to Leandro Trossard, will not derail the club.

The 27-year-old winger admitted Potter’s departure was a’shock,’ but believes they can maintain their strong start to the season.

‘It all happened very quickly,’ Trossard told the Independent this week while on international duty with Belgium.

‘We found out one day that Tuchel had been fired and that Graham had been assigned to take his place.’

For us it was a bit of a shock, but we knew that maybe one day he could go because he is a brilliant manager.
