Kepa Arrizabalaga – 8

Under Graham Potter, the Spanish player keeps up his impressive form. looked unfazed by his objective and acted immediately when necessary. made some outstanding saves, including a crucial one in the first half to save Ivan Toney from scoring. had the ball well-distributed, well handled with Brentford’s set-pieces, and never looked vulnerable.

Cesar Azpilicueta 7.5

On the right, the Chelsea captain was a workhorse who put in a lot of effort for himself and Loftus-Cheek. Azpi eliminated Brentford’s supply under his watch and made some crucial challenges to prevent a catastrophe. In the opening period, he made five clearances, recovered four pieces of possession, and also came close to scoring.

Trevor Chalobah – 7.5

The teenage defender did an excellent job filling in for Thiago Silva. did an excellent job of keeping Toney quiet and preventing bullying. Arriving in crucial positions to stop numerous attacks, he made 5 clearances and won 2 aerial duels.

Armando Broja – 6.5

Broja displayed excellent front-running skills in his first game of the year. He tortured the defenders with his startling speed and agility, frequently slipping by them. Despite his lightning-quick sprints, Broja’s final product was rather shoddy, which prevented him from scoring or providing an assist.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 4.5

The Englishman struggled in the right wing-back role and had very little impact in his position. Loftus-Cheek’s attacking contribution was poor, as his crosses were really wary. Brentford players went past him multiple times, forcing Azpilicueta to cover for him.

Kai Havertz – 4

Havertz’s absolutely lackluster play up front did him no favors. In the first half, he was virtually invisible, failing to enter any promising spaces or challenge the goalkeeper. He missed a couple opportunities during the game and only managed one quality shot on goal in the second half. Still appears to be highly ineffective and prone to mistakes when attacking.
