I will be in trouble if I say this: Patrick Vieira discusses the VAR verdict following Saturday’s 2-1 victory for Chelsea.

Chelsea overcame a deficit to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park thanks to Conor Gallagher’s late winner.

In the first half of the game, there was substantial debate concerning Thiago Silva’s handling of the ball.

Referee Chris Kavanagh cautioned Thiago Silva, much to the displeasure of Palace manager Patrick Vieira.

After the game, Vieira spoke to the media and said it was a poor choice, but he refrained from saying any more because he believed he would face repercussions for expressing his opinions.

“Thiago, there’s something I’d rather not discuss. It’s challenging for me to comprehend and accept it, therefore there are times when it’s preferable to keep silent and avoid talking about it.

“I think the referee made a mistake, but if I express my opinion, I’ll get in trouble. Therefore, I’d rather not discuss.

“I don’t understand that decision, and I don’t want to talk about it,” the speaker says.

“We just move on,” the referee said. “There is a referee, there is a VAR, and they are making decisions.”
