Fofana’s injury is not serious, Cucurella is fully recovered, and Kante is on his way back

There were initial concerns that Fofana, who was seen leaving the stadium on crutches with his right knee braced, had suffered a setback that would keep him out for an extended period of time, just over a month after finally completing his £75 million move from Leicester to west London after a protracted transfer saga.

Potter has now confirmed that optimistic prognosis, with Fofana expected to be out for a few weeks with what is thought to be a strain.

“Wesley’s knee isn’t as bad as we thought, so that’s good,” Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho told reporters at Cobham on Friday. “It will take a few weeks, but it will be much better than it could be.” [Playing before the World Cup] is a possibility.”

Chelsea also received a boost with Marc Cucurella declared fit to start against Wolves this weekend after missing out at Palace and being kept on the bench for the defeat of Milan after illness.
