Done Deal: Chelsea complete the signing of Ivorian striker as medical tests will take place today in London

Chelsea are back in action on Tuesday when they face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were in poor form prior to the World Cup, and Graham Potter will be hoping that his side can turn their fortunes around and return to winning ways after a run of five games without victory.

Chelsea look set to be busy during the upcoming January transfer window, with Potter looking to bolster his squad in a number of areas.

In the meantime, it is being reported that the club have already finalised a deal for a young striker.

According to Fabrizio Romano, The Blues have agreed a deal for Molde’s David Datro Fofana.

The 20-year-old has been in fine goalscoring form for the Norwegian side so far this term, netting 15 goals in 24 league matches.

The Ivory Coast international has also provided five assists in the Norwegian top flight, and Chelsea have moved early to secure his services, Romano claims.

He suggests that there is a full agreement in place between the London side and Molde, with the striker set to cost Chelsea around £10.5 million.

Personal terms have been agreed with the player, who is set to undergo a medical in the capital on Thursday.

Naturally a centre forward, Fofana can also be used on the right which may be useful for Potter.

Fofana was given his senior debut for Ivory Coast back in 2019, but has only made one more appearance since, during a friendly against Burundi in November.

Aged just 20, though, he looks set to play a key role for his country in the coming years.

Chelsea were set to be in the market for a striker next summer, but a long-term injury suffered by Armando Broja has increased their need for cover up front.

The Albanian international is set to miss the remainder of the current campaign after injuring his knee during a mid-season friendly loss to Aston Villa.
