Chelsea to sign £22m striker who’s like Drogba at Stamford Bridge.

Because of his outstanding form, there are “murmurs,” according to journalist Dean Jones, that Chelsea is “looking at” Aleksandar Mitrovic of Fulham.

Mitrovic has demonstrated to other clubs that he belongs in the Premier League with a string of strong performances in the early weeks of the new season.

Chelsea gave Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, club records for signings, permission to leave Stamford Bridge over the summer after the duo struggled under Thomas Tuchel.

As a result, Armando Broja, an academy graduate, has been given a chance to flourish after a good period on loan at Southampton, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was signed from Barcelona.

Graham Potter, the new manager, has only been in the position for a few weeks, so it’s unclear what he has in store for his attacking options moving ahead.

According to a recent ESPN story, Potter has “not closed the door” on Lukaku revitalizing his career at Chelsea, but that doesn’t rule out the chance of the 47-year-old coach signing his own striker.

Although there isn’t anything “specific” in the rumors surrounding Mitrovic’s future, Jones has revealed that there are rumblings that Chelsea are keeping an eye on his development.

He stated: “At the moment, there’s not really much in this particular rumor, but it won’t be for long, in an interview with GiveMeSport.

“There are rumors that Mitrovic is being watched by Chelsea, and if you score this many goals, other teams will be watching you as well.”
