Chelsea should target other trophies now that the Premier League race is over

Chelsea won’t win the Premier League this year, according to John Terry.

The former Blues captain stated on belN Sports: “It’s been five years since we won the Premier League. Will that alter this next year? No.

You’re considering the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and European Cup, right? It will be difficult.

When it comes to domestic competition, all of your eggs will be in two baskets. Since you also need to keep your players healthy, should you rotate and rest your players to ensure that they finish in the top four? What comes first? Only a potter will be aware of that.

When asked if Graham Potter’s role at Chelsea was too big for him, Terry said, “I honestly don’t believe it is. His work at Brighton was extraordinary, in my opinion, and their standing in the league speaks for itself.

“When you talk to someone on the practice field or in the neighborhood, what he’s done on the field—the way he plays, the formation—has spoken for itself.

Additionally, I think that in this day and age, a young manager needs to understand the players because of the manner he interacts with them. And I believe that young managers like him can relate to and understand players better than anyone.

After four victories, Chelsea is eight points behind league-leading Arsenal.
