Chelsea owners complete talks with suspected Chelsea new Coach

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali understood not to be worried about a compensation fee for Brighton boss Graham Potter. Seagulls are understood to have given Chelsea permission to speak to their manager.

Boehly had already planned a meeting before the game against Dinamo Zagreb for Wednesday morning with Thomas Tuchel, but Tuchel didn’t have a feeling he was going to be sacked – he thought it was going to be a “normal morning”.

Chelsea owners are aiming today to have a deal wrapped up for Graham Potter and his coaching staff to be in place for Fulham.

Chelsea’s two frontrunners to replace Thomas Tuchel are Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino. Potter is the current priority and Brighton won’t stand in his way. But Pochettino is highly respected by many on the Chelsea board. Club wants to talk to both before any final decision.

Zinedine Zidane has also been touted but no approach has been made yet. The same can be said of Brendan Rodgers. Chelsea want to look at multiple candidates, but there are two clear targets and contact has already been made with both.
