Center midfielder with £75 million price tag eager to join Chelsea in January. It is no longer kept a secret.
According to Ben Jacobs, a transfer specialist, Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo is eager to join Chelsea in January.
Chelsea’s initial bid of £55 million for Caicedo was turned down by Brighton, which apparently wants to sell the midfielder for £75 million in January.
It’s no genuine secret that the player wants to join Chelsea or Liverpool; he’s searching for his next step, according to Jacobs, who spoke to GiveMeSport.
And Brighton is typically fairly accommodating when a player wants to go. But if anything occurs in January, let’s be clear: Brighton will negotiate a contract on their terms.
Given Chelsea’s interest, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi recently admitted he cannot guarantee Caicedo would remain at Brighton for the whole of the season.
He is very vital to us; it would be challenging to replace him at this time with another player, according to De Zerbi.
“I hope he spends the rest of the season with us, but you know it’s hard to give you a straight answer on the transfer market.”
The remaining time on Caicedo’s current Seagulls contract is two and a half years.
