“Buying a Midfielder?, Thanks for reminding me” – Graham Potter responds to reports that Chelsea is planning to sign a new midfielder in January.

The topic of whether Chelsea manager Graham Potter would like to bring in a midfielder during the upcoming January transfer window received a response lately.

In his third game in charge of the team, Potter’s Blues team trounced Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 on October 8 at Stamford Bridge.

However, Potter’s team came away with a resounding victory thanks to goals from Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, and Kai Havertz.

As he addressed the media after the game, the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager was reminded of his team’s lack of midfielders. He was asked if the squad will consider the possibility of bringing in a new player during the January transfer window.

“I haven’t given the transfer window any attention. I appreciate you reminding me of it. Even though I’ve had a busy week with three matches, I always say that any team should always be considering possibilities and methods to improve when the window is open. But it’s my responsibility as the head coach to support and develop the players who are here.

“You can see from the team today that there are a lot of positives, but we are not at our peak, but that is also exciting because we can assist the team and individuals get better,” Potter continued.
