Blues are prepared to sign a 24-year-old Eredivisie midfielder as the perfect Kante and Jorginho replacement

To replace Kante and Jorginho, the Blues are prepared to recruit a 24-year-old midfielder from the Eredivisie.

Chelsea reportedly plans to make another attempt to sign Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez in the winter after almost doing so in the summer. According to reports, Chelsea attempted to sign the 24-year-old star for around £40 million, and it looks that he still represents their top choice as the new Blues owners plan to invest more money in midfield during the forthcoming transfer window.

The report claims that Edson was excited for his transfer from Ajax to Chelsea. Star players like Aubameyang, Sterling, and Wesley Fofana were among the players the Blues signed over the summer. Denis Zakaria joined the team on loan from Juventus on the final day of the transfer window.

Alvarez has made a big impression during his time in the Eredivisie, thus one imagines that he could be the ideal choice for Chelsea in that defensive midfield position. The Blues should prioritize that region of the field since Kante and Jorginho, who are getting older, don’t seem to be as successful as they previously did.

With so much money spent on new signings this summer and Chelsea obviously already making plans for the winter, it is obvious that new owner Todd Boehly is prepared to be aggressive in the transfer market.

This summer, Chelsea spent a lot of money on new players, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Wesley Fofana, Raheem Sterling, and Marc Cucurella.
