At his age he’s doing what Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Co couldn’t do: Rio Ferdinand praises Chelsea main transfer target.

Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, is reportedly now a target for Chelsea.

Jude Bellingham, though, is a fantastic player whose ability as a footballer has never been in doubt, and he is generating a lot of attention from all the top Premier League teams.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who is the third-youngest captain in the league behind Ruben Neves and Matthijs de Ligt, captained his team in the UEFA Champions League encounter against Sevilla on Wednesday night. He was named the game’s MVP since he not only scored a goal but also gave an assist.

Bellingham is accomplishing things as a midfielder at his age in football that “we haven’t seen,” according to Rio Ferdinand, who made over 450 games for Manchester United during his playing career.

Ferdinand believes Bellingham is making history by achieving things that legends like Frank Lampard and company could not do while still so young.

The pundit told BT Sport, “What he’s accomplishing in his position at his age, we haven’t seen. “Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, those men are the best of our generation… Roy Keane and Viera weren’t participating in this.

“He still has to continue and demonstrate it over time, but they weren’t doing what he is doing now—influencing games at this level and leading a team at this level. He is the total package. Without a question, this kid is a beast mentally.

Since arriving to Dortmund in 2020, Bellingham has continued to develop his skills. The midfielder has already made 100 appearances for the Bundesliga team, contributing to 20 more goals and 14 of his own while doing so.”
