As RB Leipzig’s manager makes a new Christopher Nkunku suggestion, Chelsea is dealt a significant Kingsley Coman setback.
As football.london revealed in October, Nkunku has entered into a pre-contract deal with the Blues in preparation for a move for the 2023–24 season.
In 48 appearances for the German club in all competitions last season, the French forward racked up an incredible 31 goals and 20 assists. He was duly named the Bundesliga Player of the Season for his deserving performance.
Nkunku’s future has been the subject of persistent rumors from Leipzig, but Eberl, who addressed his first news conference as sporting director on Friday, suggested that the Frenchman’s exit is all but certain.
He replied when questioned about the France international: I’m still unable to confirm anything on Christo. There is a lot of discussion and interest in us. In light of this, something is approaching.
Bayern would not be interested in trading Christian Pulisic of Chelsea for Coman, according to Sport Witness’s Christian Falk, because it would be like trading “a Ferrari for a Fiat.” In the summer, the Bundesliga team acquired Sadio Mane from Liverpool, sparking rumors that Coman or Leroy Sane might depart the team.
A deal for Coman was something Chelsea was interested in, and their strategy was to make a bid for the French star and possibly include Pulisic in the deal to try to lower the price.
Bayern, however, would not be interested in such an offer, according to Falk, as “they are very, very satisfied with Coman” at the moment.
