After Tuchel is fired, Lukaku decides on his Chelsea future as Potter takes over as manager

After Tuchel is fired, Lukaku decides on his Chelsea future as Potter takes over as manager.

Romelu Lukaku cost Chelsea £97.5 million to acquire last summer, but the Belgian never lived up to the high expectations set for him.

Lukaku spent a year with Chelsea before deciding to return to Inter Milan, albeit on a season-long loan.

Thomas Tuchel’s playing style never appeared to fit Lukaku during his one season at Chelsea, and the Belgian never gave the prospect of staying on with the team once the season was over any thought.

Following Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal, Lukaku’s future has once more become unknown due to reports of a probable return to Chelsea at the end of the current season.

Lukaku, though, does not intend to rejoin Chelsea, according to reports from Italy.

The 29-year-old will reportedly be loaned out once more by Inter Milan for the 2023–24 season despite the fact that they do not have a buy option.

After Thomas Tuchel was fired, Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta acknowledged he is unsure of what Lukaku’s future will be.

It’s brand-new information. Marotta expressed uncertainty in response to Tuchel’s dismissal to Sky Italia. “I don’t know what the effects will be,” he said.

“We will sit down with Chelsea at the end of the season to discuss Lukaku, and we will make sure that he contributes as much as possible.

“I’m not sure if a change in coaches implies that his comeback will be automatic; it’s hard to foresee today.”
