Romelu Lukaku is reportedly open to discussions with new Chelsea manager Graham Potter regarding his future with the club.
In August 2021, the Belgian international moved from Inter Milan to Chelsea for a second stint after regaining his status as one of the best attackers in Europe while playing for San Siro.
Despite making 44 appearances for the Blues last season, when he scored 15 goals and added two assists, Lukaku struggled to fit into Thomas Tuchel’s system.
While Tuchel was ousted as Chelsea manager by Potter earlier this month, Lukaku has now returned to Inter Milan on a season-long loan agreement.
ESPN reports that Potter is ready to speak with Lukaku at the conclusion of the season about his future with the Blues.
Despite the 29-year-reputed old’s desire to stay with the Serie A club, there is no purchase option. Included in his loan agreement, which prompted Potter to say he would be willing to engage in conversation with the forward if a permanent transfer to Inter is not possible.
Since returning, Lukaku has made three appearances and registered one goal and one assist, however he has missed the club’s past seven games due to injury.
